That's just it. I don't think we have a very good team in RD this year. This is the worst I've ever seen it. I think we've got a couple like Lebanon who could be decent. We don't have anyone who's getting to state (Unless it's a D1 team) and if they do, it's going to be Appy/William Campbell bad. I think PV could have a good record this year, maybe a very good record, when we get out of regional play, it's gonna get ugly.

ill give you that, this happens to be the weakiest Reg. D year ever, I can remember.

leb. will roll, they wont get beat until they leave the region.

pv could easily make it to the regional final, with a team that maybe isnt as good as some of the other pv teams that went to region final before.

Giles is the best Region C has to offer, the whole state is down. Essex is the best team and they have to beat Gretna to get to state. I still think it ends up Essex vs. Giles in the end but time will tell. Whoever wins A/B in D1 will win the state game going away, CW will make their third straight state title appearance and lose again I'm afraid.

Va Preps had a thread stateing that former Kelly head man Sanders has "run off" Gretna's O Cordanator (Could be that Gretna may stub there toe a bit this season)

I don't know the circumstances but thats true. I talked to some people up that way the day it happened. Campbell will probably win the Dogwood this year.

I think Floyd and Essex but time will tell.

I'm not buying that either. I saw nothing last year from them that impressed me other than the little rb that graduated. If JIB or CW from last year was playing now, they'd beat Lebanon by 30+.

Floyd lost Harris. Floyd had no business in the state game last year, Lebanon practically gave the game to them.

Lebanon lost their QB and RB from last year. Right now I feel Lebanon and Gate City are pretty even. Gate City returns almost their entire defense and almost half their offense. I think the Gate City @ Lebanon game will be the game of the week that week. It may very well be a three horse race for Region. Cant wait to see how PV matches up with VHS tommorrow night.

The Floyd Co.--Gretna game was sad to watch. I have the footage of half the game uploaded online if anyone wants me to send them a copy of the massacre. It was a brutal display of speed and power on Gretna's side. Seems like they sacked their QB at least a dozen times in the first half, and ran the ball down their throats at will. Lebanon is lucky they didn't have to drive all the way down there just to have the same done to them. It would have gotten ugly, fast. The final score (35-20) doesn't do the game justice at all - it was anything but close.

And I also tend to agree with Lung: Lebanon's bread and butter last year was Helbert, and now that he's graduated, I just don't see them producing a whole lot. Cobb was a strong runner, and I think he'll do OK, but they won't be able to replace Helbert so quickly.
